Wyoming Cowboy Football Returns Next Month
It was announced Wednesday that Spring Football practice at the University of Wyoming will start just after spring break at UW in Laramie.
The Cowboys will begin their 15 practice regimen on Tuesday, March 20. They will practice Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for five consecutive weeks. It concludes with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. from War Memorial Stadium.
Wyoming is coming off back-to-back eight win seasons and a victory in the 2017 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. They’ve finished first and second in the Mountain Division over the last two seasons.
UW returns eight starters on defense, including First Team All-Mountain West honorees Andrew Wingard, Carl Granderson and Youhanna Ghaifan. Also back is Second Team All-MW selection Logan Wilson, who led the Pokes in tackles with 119 last season. Wyoming also returns nine starters on offense, including four starters on the offensive line. There’s also two kicking specialists and three returners coming back.
The biggest question surrounding Cowboy Football heading into Spring Practice is, of course, who will replace Josh Allen as starting quarterback?
Most weekday practice sessions will be at either 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. Saturday’s are listed as to be announced or “TBA.”
All practices are closed to the public. Only the first 30 minutes is open to the media. The Spring Game will be open to the media and public.
