Laramie's Interfaith-Good Samaritan is short on food supplies this month and could use some help from the public.

The monthly truck of food items from Food Bank of the Rockies, which usually shows up in the middle of the month, will not be arriving until Thursday.  In the meantime, employee Steve Wagner says the shelves are depleted -- so it's a great time for anyone who wishes to donate food items or money to do so.

"Basically, we look for nonperishable items," says Wagner.  "Things like peanut butter and fruit cups and macaroni and cheese and stuff like that -- things that can stay on the shelf for a while and won't go bad."

Donations can be made to Interfaith-Good Samaritan at 710 E. Garfield Street during normal business hours.  Interfaith-Good Samaritan is located in Room 127, just inside the doors on the southeast corner of the Laramie Plains Civic Center.

Normal business hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; and noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

"A lot of people give during the holidays and then January, February [are] kind of slow months for us here," says Wagner.  "So this is a good time to donate."
