Question:

Why is the removal of snow on city streets not done by the city, especially not by the schools? Boulder Drive has a lot of traffic on it now, and there isn't any snow removal.

Answer:

"The city's adopted policy states the following:

'If the snow depth exceeds 3 inches or drifting occurs, the arterial and collector streets will be plowed. Should it become necessary, snow will be windrowed to the center and removed.'

The city's street plowing priorities begin by first tending to emergency response routes and then move on to school zones. This policy has been in place for quite some time and mirrors the the plowing policies of other cities and towns in the western United States.

For more information, please refer to the city's Snow and Ice Policy."
