Wyoming Unemployment Rate Continues Steady Decline
Wyoming's unemployment rate continues to fall, according to a Department of Workforce Services report released last week.
From May 2018 through May of this year, unemployment fell in 21 Wyoming counties. Fremont County saw the largest decrease with a drop from 4.8% to 3.8%. Teton County's unemployment rate fell from 3.8% to 3%.
Meanwhile, Natrona County saw a drop from 4.4% to 3.7%.
Two counties in eastern Wyoming saw slight increases with Goshen County's unemployment figures increasing from 3.3% to 3.6%. Niobrara's unemployment rate increased to 2.7% from 2.4%.
Big Horn and Sublette Counties currently have the highest unemployment rates in the Cowboy State at 4% and 3.9% respectively.
Statewide, non-farm employment increased from 286,500 to 290,800 jobs, representing a gain of 4,300 jobs.
