You’ve Gotta See The Very First Jubilee Days In 1940 [VIDEO]
The very first Jubilee Days (or Equality Jubilee Days, as it was known then) was a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Wyoming Statehood. It included a parade, a re-enactment of the meeting of the first jury that included female jurors, a dramatization of a murder trial from 1870, fiddler's competitions, and other general merriment.
Below, you can watch a video taken by an anonymous Laramie resident back in 1940 of the very first Laramie Jubilee Days, complete with the parade and a demonstration from local firemen. The Laramie Plains Museum previously owned the film, before donating it to the American Heritage Center, which digitized the film in 2016.
