Albany County Officials Thank Public for Their Efforts During Pandemic

As businesses reopen in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, government workers and officials have united to praise the efforts that community members have made and urge caution as the County reopens for business and pleasure.

Mayor Joe Shumway of Laramie stated, “First off, I want to say how much I appreciate the cooperation of our community as we have worked together to slow the spread of COVID-19.”

Albany County Commissioner, Terri Jones, had similar sentiments when she said “following Governor Gordon’s Health Orders has been difficult for both our families and our economy. It is imperative we use caution and open our economy safely.”

Rock River Mayor, CJ Leslie, pointed out “we must continue to practice the safety guidelines set forth by Governor Mark Gordon. Social distancing and wearing facial coverings, when required will hasten our efforts to once again fully enjoy our churches, cafes, parks and all other activities that residents have recently not been able participate in.”

The care and concern for others’ well-being were made apparent in comments by Albany County Public Health Response Coordinator, Bill Peska, when he said, “We want to thank the citizens of Albany County for continuing to participate in safe social distancing and being proactive in protecting the more vulnerable within our community.”
