The City-sponsored 2020 Fire in the Sky firework display will be occurring on Saturday, July 4, around 9 pm.

If inclement weather conditions prevent the show, it will be held on July 5.

The fireworks will be supplied by J&M Displays of Iowa and pyrotechnician Dave Akers will return for his 30th display in Laramie.

The launch site for this display will be from the area near 22nd St and Armory Rd. There will be a 600 ft radius safety zone set up around the launch site, in accordance with the 2018 International Fire Code and the 2018 edition of the National Fire Protection Association Standard for Fireworks Display.

Portions of N 22nd St, Armory Rd and Television Rd will be closed prior to the display. 22nd St will be closed between Willett Dr and Harney St. Armory Rd will be closed west from Television Rd to 22nd St. Television Rd will be closed from the intersection at Armory Rd North to Harney St. Harney St will be closed from Television Rd to 22nd St in order to avoid issues with shell debris fallout from the fireworks display. Spectator parking will not be permitted along Harney Street between the intersections of Television Road and N 19th Street.

TheCity recommends viewing the show from nearby City parks (Washington, LaPrele, Harbon, Scout, and Kiowa Parks) and other locations, such as Fraternity/Sorority Park on the UW campus. Please be sure to follow social distancing guidelines that are in place at the time of the event.
