Song Celebrates The Spirit of Former Cowgirl Killed On Christmas Eve
Sancy Shaw (Florquist) played soccer for the Wyoming Cowgirls from 1998-2001. She was a teacher and coach at North Routt Charter School in Steamboat Springs, CO. Tragically, on Christmas Eve 2018 she was killed by a drunk driver on I-70 in Colorado.
Now, CBS4 in Denver is reporting that a new song has been released that is about Sancy and the impact she had on those that knew her and honoring her life.
The song is called “Shine On.” It was written by Lorrie Harden and Tommy Harden of the band Lost Hollow with the help of family friend Greg Peterson.
“It really captured a lot of what our life was about and what her life was about and what it stood for," Sancy's husband Brett Shaw told CBS4.
Part of the proceeds from “Shine On” will go towards the Live Like Sancy Fund. The song can be purchased here.
