The University of Wyoming Art Museum’s Ann Simpson Artmobile is getting in on the Laramie Jubilee Days action.

The Artmobile is hosting a Laramie Jubilee Days Parade costume-making workshop on Saturday, July 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Art museum, according to a UW news release.

Families are invited to take part in the museum’s Family Saturday Workshop to create geologically inspired parade costumes, crafts and accessories for the Artmobile’s parade entry, “Rock Show.”

The workshop, which is free and open to the public, is inspired by this year’s Laramie Jubilee Days parade theme, “Gem City of the Plains.”

Participants can wear their costumes made during the workshop in the parade Saturday, July 14.

“The Artmobile is always traveling around the state,” says Sarita Talusani Keller, the UW Art Museum’s Artmobile educator, in a statement. “This Family Saturday Workshop gives the people of Laramie a rare opportunity to participate with the Artmobile in a community event. It’s also an honor for me to learn about Laramie -- my new home -- as we create and celebrate our town and statehood together.”
