Crazy I-80 Lightning Strike Caught on Camera

On Thursday evening 7/27, we experienced a late afternoon thunderstorm here in Cheyenne, but in Nebraska, the lightning was a little more severe-and caught on camera.

A Nebraska DOT highway traffic camera captured an amazing shot. A bolt of lightning actually struck the highway and was captured by the camera.

I'm never this lucky to capture a shot like this whenever I've taken a photo of lightning.

The lightning struck 1-80 near Sidney, Nebraska.

Luckily, a vehicle wasn't struck and no one was injured.
