High Wind to Return to Southeast Wyoming
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The National Weather Service says high winds are possible in a large part of southeast Wyoming starting Friday night and persisting through Saturday.
Gusts up to 70 mph are possible.
That's bad news for travelers because the strong winds blow snow onto highways and cause poor visibility.
Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Wheatland was closed again Friday morning because of the blowing snow.
Most roads and highways around the state have slick areas, and some have black ice.
High wind warnings have been posted for wind prone areas, including Arlington, Bordeaux and the South Laramie Range.
High wind watches have been posted for much of Carbon, Albany, Platte and Converse Counties in southeast Wyoming, where wind gusts in excess of 60 mph are possible.
